two koreas on tense situation

1.the Democratic People's Republic of Korea
2.Kim Jong-il, born 2/16/41, took office july 8, 1954
3. after war japan has to give up japan
4. north korea is in north east asia north of south korea.
5. North Korea borders the pacific east sea, gulf of west korea, russia, south korea, china.
6. The 38th parrallel is sinificant because The 38th parallel was first suggested as a dividing line for Korea in 1896. Russia was attempting to pull Korea under its control, while Japan had just secured recognition of its rights in Korea from the British. In an attempt to prevent any conflict, Japan proposed to Russia that the two sides split Korea into separate Spheres of influence along the 38th parallel. However, no formal agreement was ever reached, and Japan later took full control of korea.
7. the relationship between north korea and south korea is that north korea was controlled by russia and south korea was controlled by the u.s. the u.s. was in a cold war with russia so they made the two contries hate each other too.
8. on the north korean side life is terrible. there is no connections too the outside world. the government controles everything and the people in North korea dont even know. all they have been told is to hate america. the dictator in the country makes himself look like a god to those people. when ever something good happens he gets credit whenther he did it or not.
